It is a system of delivering friendly bacteria into urinal traps.
An enzyme is produced that works to prevent the build up of scale that leads to blockages and bad smells.
In addition, to allow the enzymes to work efficiently, flushing is only required 4 times a day.
Appearance
Once fitted, urinal waste outlets are normally left in place until the
urinal bowl is replaced. After a while, they get coated in uric salts and
lime scale on the inside. There are also occasional cigarette burns on the
outside. The addition of urinal blocks makes them look more unsightly.
Smell
Caused by 'bad' bacteria in bio film, uric sludge and lime scale build up on
the internal surface of the waste outlet and waste trap. Also caused by
unhygienic seepage between the waste outlet and the waste trap.
Blockages
Caused by the build up of uric sludge, fragments of chemical blocks and lime
scale in the waste trap and pipe work.

This is a Sani-Sleeve insert.

|
It is a low cost
consumable and can be retrofitted to existing urinals as well as
fitted to new units. Inside, the fresh smelling green layer,
contains:
o Surfactants to provide foaming and washing action o Sequestrate to inhibit lime scale formation o Freeze dried bacteria to produce the enzyme Uri case to convert uric salts to allantoin |
|
A Sani-Sleeve is inserted into the waste outlet of each urinal… |
|
|
|
The Sani-Sleeve
extends into the waterline of the urinal trap.
Inside the trap, an odour lock is created. This area is traditionally a major source of unpleasant smells. Below the water line the enzymes act on the uric salts , which become soluble and are washed away easily with the next flush |
If a urinal flushes every 15 minuets it uses 480 litres per day.

480 litres a day over a year is 175200 litres.
175200litres works out @ 175.2 cubic meters
The cost of the average water bill for a urinal
£525.60
With the sani-sleeve system using a auto flush the urinal flushes 4 times using 5 litres per flush per day using 20 litres. This means the urinal only uses 7.3 cubic meters per year.
The water savings are 167. 9 cubic meters
THE COST SAVINGS OF APROX £503.70
